Gold level do last. This award is the same for Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts
The Bronze and Silver level Super Nova awards each require FOUR of the following Merit Badges. Merit Badges CANNOT be repeated between the two awards. Additionally, the Harris award requires the Scholarship Merit Badge.
Each STEM Field—science, technology, engineering, mathematics—offers a choice of three Supernova activity topics. These are two-part, hands-on, high-level activities created to challenge you and help you continue along your STEM journey to excellence. Part 1 involves research, preparation, set up, coordination, and/or organization. Part 2 includes elements such as analysis, reflection, experimentation, design, or invention, and culminates in a report created by you. You must choose 2 Activity topics for the Harris award. They must be from different STEM fields. The Edison award requires two additional topics from different fields than the ones used for Harris. By the completion of Edison, scouts will have done one activity in each field. For the Einstein Award, scouts must complete four additional topics, one from each field. After completing all three awards, a scout will have completed eight topics, two from each STEM area.
