The World Conservation Award or "Panda Patch," was retired with the 2024 program update and replaced with the Champions for Nature Adventures. Please see our Champions for Nature page for requirements and resources for completing these adventures.
The World Conservation Award or "Panda Patch," for Scouts BSA by completing the Environmental Science OR Sustainability Merit Badge, the Soil and Water Conservation OR Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge, the Citizenship in the World Merit Badge, and completing a 3-hour conservation-themed service project. The application for the award can be found here.
The World Conservation Award or "Panda Patch," for Venturing and Sea Scouts, is earned by completing the Ecology elective for the Ranger Award and completing additional requirements outlined in the award requirements.
Please see the Conservation Good Turn Program Website for a complete overview of this program. Units work with partner organizations to identify and complete a Conservation Good Turn. These projects can also be used for adventures, advancement, or Merit Badges unless otherwise prohibited.
